Prime Video continues to attract attention with its new projects. Amazon, which is searching for the new face of James Bond, has purchased the rights to this iconic character with a $1 billion deal. This development is seen as a significant step for the Bond series' transition into the streaming world. However, Amazon holds not only Bond but also another beloved franchise, Tomb Raider.

Tomb Raider is a production adapted from a video game that became a massive phenomenon in the 2000s. In the new TV series, the character Lara Croft will be brought to life by the beloved Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner. Turner shared her thoughts on her new role, saying, "I have been a fan of Tomb Raider and the character Lara Croft for a long time. Lara has always felt like a brave figure in a male-dominated world. She is a strong female role model." Additionally, names like Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, and Jack Bannon are also part of the show's cast. The series is being developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator and writer of Fleabag.

This series was announced following a deal between Amazon and Crystal Dynamics. This agreement will kick off a new era of video games for the Tomb Raider series. The first game, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, is set to be released in February 2027, and fans are excited with the upcoming release of a new trailer. Tomb Raider has not seen such significant interest since Alicia Vikander's live-action film in 2018. The new voice of Lara Croft in the video game will be Alix Wilton Regan from Cyberpunk 2077.

Amazon's new projects are generating great excitement for both old fans and new viewers. The revival of iconic characters like Tomb Raider and James Bond will contribute to Prime Video's strengthening presence in the streaming world.
