Wai Ching Ho, the renowned actress known for her role as Madame Gao in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has passed away at the age of 82. Ho's death was confirmed by former co-stars Peter Shinkoda and Judy Lei. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Peter Shinkoda, who portrayed the character Nobu in the Daredevil series, expressed his sorrow for Ho on his Instagram account. "I will never forget you. I learned something from every moment spent with you. I listened carefully to your words of wisdom. We will meet again, my friend. You were beautiful," he stated.
Born in Hong Kong in 1943, Ho had a vast career in film, television, and theater. She made her screen debut in 1983 in the series One Life to Live. In 2015, she gained significant recognition for her role as Madame Gao in Daredevil, a character she also portrayed in Iron Fist and The Defenders series.
Ho appeared in many productions, including Swans Crossing, Wonderland, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She is also known for voicing Grandma Wu in Pixar's animated film Turning Red. Her stage performances include plays such as Laowang: A Chinatown King Lear and Snow in Midsummer. Ho's passing is a great source of sorrow for her fans and the artistic community.
