This summer, Sarah McLachlan and Allison Russell are organizing a "sisters" tour together. McLachlan is hitting the road for her upcoming album "Better Broken," set to release in 2025, while also bringing many nostalgic elements from her successful "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" 30th Anniversary Tour to the stage. This time, Allison Russell, who has reached a wider audience in recent years by opening for Hozier and starring in Broadway's "Hadestown," will accompany McLachlan on stage. The duo not only shares the pride of Canada but also emphasizes the healing power of music; as McLachlan puts it, the audience will be able to "forget the madness" and enjoy the connection.

Variety conducted an interview with the two singer-songwriters via Zoom. McLachlan was at her home in Vancouver, British Columbia, while Russell briefly came to New York from her home in Nashville to work on her memories. The two were in an exciting preparation process for their upcoming events. Their tour dates will continue until August 9.

Allison Russell mentioned that she is constantly on the go and shared that she finally watched the Lilith Fair documentary, which emotionally affected her. Highlighting the impact of McLachlan's documentary, especially on the younger generation, Russell also expressed her children's interest in 90s culture. She stated that this era provided a refuge from the chaos of today's digital world.

McLachlan noted that the series "Stranger Things" has also revived this culture. She emphasized that comparing a two-woman tour with a festival is difficult, especially with the impact of the documentary bringing Lilith Fair back into the spotlight. However, those who participate in this tour will surely experience the unifying power of music.
