The Call of Duty series underwent a major transformation with the release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2003, turning the franchise from being Medal of Honor's biggest competitor into a massive brand today. This October, the series' 23rd main installment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, will meet players with two parallel storylines. One of these stories will follow the series' main character, Captain Price, while the other will focus on a new soldier in South Korea, Sergeant Park. The character of Sergeant Park will be brought to life by Young Mazino, the star of The Last of Us 2.

Additionally, the Call of Duty series is finally making its way to the big screen. Produced by Paramount and developed by Peter Berg and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, the film is set to be released on June 30, 2028. This development has generated significant excitement among fans of the series. However, despite all this activity, the general consensus is that Call of Duty's best days are behind it.

Considering the series' past successes and its impact on players, the new game and film projects are seen as an effort to carry on the legacy of Call of Duty. However, it remains to be seen how successful they will be in regaining the popularity of its earlier days. This situation stands out as an important development for both gamers and movie audiences.
