Peter Van Norden, 'Police Academy' Actor, Passes Away at 75

Peter Van Norden, the famous actor known for his roles in 'Police Academy' and 'Naked Gun', has passed away at the age of 75. His son Robert announced that his father died on Thursday.
In a post on Instagram, Robert stated, “Peter passed away peacefully last night with his wife Wendy by his side.” He added, “He was a wonderful father, husband, friend, and a highly respected figure in the theater community. We will miss him.” Van Norden was born on December 16, 1950, and began his acting career in the late 1970s with the comedy film 'Squeeze Play'.
In the 1985 sequel 'Police Academy: Their First Assignment', Van Norden played the role of police officer Vinnie Schtulman, the first partner of Carey Mahoney, portrayed by Steve Guttenberg. He was also recognized for his role as John Sununu, former White House Chief of Staff to George H. W. Bush, in the second film of the 'Naked Gun' series in 1991.
On television, he appeared in numerous productions such as 'Three’s A Crowd' (1985), 'Silver Spoons', 'Matlock', 'L.A. Law' (1990-1992), and 'Murder, She Wrote' (1989-1996). Van Norden's filmography includes significant works like 'The Accused', 'An Innocent Man', 'Love Hurts', and 'West Virginia'.
Beyond film and television, Van Norden had an extensive stage career, participating in Broadway, off-Broadway, and regional productions. His last stage performance was in the play 'Corktown ’39' at the Matrix Theatre in Los Angeles last year.
