The official trailer released for acclaimed Korean director Na Hong-jin's new film 'Hope' introduces viewers to characters chasing or fleeing from a mysterious and destructive creature. The trailer sets a bloody atmosphere with events taking place in an abandoned coastal village called Hope Harbor, located near the Demilitarized Zone in South Korea. At the end of the nearly two-minute trailer, a shot of a spaceship gliding through the sky reveals that the film is not just an ordinary action production, but a big-budget sci-fi spectacle.

'Hope' marks Na Hong-jin's first feature film in nearly a decade. The film premiered globally in the competition category at the Cannes Film Festival in May and received a six-minute standing ovation. While the film elicited mixed reactions among critics, some praised it while others found it confusing.

David Rooney, the chief film critic for Hollywood Reporter, gave a positive review, describing the film as "a sci-fi creature feature with instant cult classic potential." Rooney noted, "It's a great feeling to know you're in the hands of a reliable genre master from the very first scenes of a film," highlighting how the film's impressive cinematography, thrilling music, and fast pace immediately draw the audience in.

'Hope' will be released in South Korean theaters by Plus M Entertainment on July 15. Following that, Neon will present the film exclusively in theaters in North America on September 9. This process is considered a significant milestone in Na Hong-jin's career.
