Mara Brock Akil's Writer Colony Announces Summer and Fall Sessions for 2026

Showrunner Mara Brock Akil's Writer Colony has announced two new groups for 2026. The summer session will kick off on June 10, while the fall session will begin on September 2. The three-month screenwriting residency is located in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles, right next to Brock Akil's story27 Productions.

During the program, participants will have the opportunity to meet with experienced writers to enhance their screenwriting techniques. The Writer Colony aims to provide an environment that supports participants' creative processes. Additionally, at the end of this program, participants will have the chance to pitch their projects.

Mara Brock Akil states that this colony will help bring forth new voices and perspectives.
