The launch trailer for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced introduced many exciting features of the game set to release in July. Among these features, the standout is the ability to recruit new pets that will join the Jackdaw ship. Without altering the gameplay dynamics, pets emerge as one of the interactive cosmetics you can earn in the game.

Fortunately, you won't need to progress too far to unlock all four pets available in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. You can earn two of them right after completing the introductory missions of the story, and you will be able to add them to your equipment from the pause menu.

The first animal companion you can unlock in Black Flag Resynced is the Gold Tom cat, which you can obtain by purchasing the Deluxe Edition or acquiring the standalone Master Assassin Naval Pack DLC. You will be able to start using this cat on the Jackdaw ship after acquiring it from the Spanish fleet. However, the Tom cat is not the only pet that can be unlocked for free in the game.

Another cat you can find when you first set foot on Great Inagua is waiting for you atop a house. If you want to find it on your own, just follow the trail of blood and dead rats. You can add your new friend to your ship by interacting with it. Additionally, the first monkey you can obtain right after the game's tutorial can be acquired by purchasing it with Data Fragments from the Animus project menu. However, remember that to obtain the Dark Familiar monkey, you need to change the 'Riptides' project to 'Eye In The Dark'.

Finally, the second monkey and last pet you can acquire in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will appear in Havana during the side quest titled "Monkey Business". After taking out all the guards, you can interact with Albert to add him to your Jackdaw crew.
