The long-awaited day of the exam results arrives - will it bring joy or sadness? While Charlene, Jane, Mike can celebrate, Scott is bitterly disappointed. Jim expects Scott to repeat the school year. Helen is visited by a strange man who introduces himself as Reverend Errol Price, but the visitor is destined to cause a lot of heartache.
Scott sees his brother in new light when Paul buys him a car. Sinister things are happening at the cemetery. Alleged prison chaplain Reverend Errol Price reveals his true colours. He doesn't care about the well-being of his fellow human beings, but wants to wipe out their lives. Paul and Susan have a row.
Helen hasn't come home all night. Paul spots her car in a parking lot. The Robinson family is in a frenzy and suspect that Reverend Price has something to do with Helen's disappearance, then Paul gets some interesting facts from the prison - the real Reverend Price is a much older man.
Reverend Eroll Price is revealed to be Ralph Drew and Helen's kidnapper. Shortly after, he shows up at the Robinsons. When he leaves their house, Charlene and Shane give chase. But it quickly becomes a dangerous mission.
Dan pays a furtive visit to the doctor. Kelly tells Daphne she killed her father. Madge is left money by her aunt Maud in a will. She is to be paid a large sum if she can prove to her father Dan that she has become a decent and honorable woman.
Paul fires Susan. Helen appears to have made a full recovery, but later becomes tired and emotional.
Clive gives a verdict on Dan's health. Charlene and Kelly put Mike and Scott in an embarrassing situation.
Daphne and Madge begin to scheme for Clive and Susan's wedding. Mike and Scott are caught with their trousers down. Shane is bitten by a snake.
Susan is forced to admit her true feelings for Paul.
Kelly tries hard to impress Shane. Susan makes a decision about her future.
Clive blames Paul for Susan's sudden disappearance.
Susan reaches out to Charlene. Scott gets his first pay cheque.
Clive accuses Paul of ruining his life.
Paul offers Mrs Mangel a full time job at Lassiters. Scott's first article is published.
Charlene begs Madge to call Mr Bishop, Charlene thinks Paul has ruined Clives life but Shane tells her to not be so hard. Charlene reads Scott’s article and says if it is published it will cause a stink that he will not hear the end of.
Madge is upset to learn that Charlene still has ambitions to be a mechanic. Helen gets a visitor.
Scott and Lucy get in an argument about Basil coming to the beach with them. Scott does not want Basil stinking out his car. Things get saucy at the beach with Scott and Charlene and Basil put himself in a life threatening situation when he jumps off the pier.
Lucy and Mike are on the pier calling and looking for Basil. They cannot find him, Mike dives into the sea. Mike comes up from under the water and Lucy shouts if he can see Basil. Mike shouts back that he cannot see him anywhere, he swims under the pier and dives down under the ocean in a vain search for Basil.
Scott's newspaper article has widespread repercussions in Ramsay Street.
Des and Daphne have a showdown that sees Des thrown out of his house. Helen gets some alarming news.
Scott is determined to continue with his newspaper article. Eileen is very supportive of Daphne.
Rosemary returns to Erinsborough and receives some bad news. Scott's latest article is published, angering Madge.
Mrs Mangel tells Helen the truth about her husband. Charlene gets an apprenticeship in a garage, Rosemary is determined to find out the truth.
Charlene starts her job, but it doesn't go well. Scott manages to stop the publication of his next article, with Jim's help. Madge has a plan to get Des and Daphne back together.
Madge hosts a dinner with some of the neighbours.
An argument between Des and Daphne ends in disaster.
Daphne and the baby are fine and Des apologises. Rosemary finds some letters that reveal some devastating information.
Rosemary is upset over the fact that Helen had an affair with her fiance so she moves into Lassiters, Charlene visits her brother in prison.
Madge tries hard to find the money to save her son. Mike gives bouncer to Lucy. Henry is released from prison but Madge wont have him in her home.
Henry gets to stay and Jim tries to make Helen and Rosemary friends again.
