The Devil Wears Prada 2 Director Adrian Grenier Reveals His Thoughts on a Cameo
David Frankel, the director of The Devil Wears Prada 2, confessed his desire to feature Adrian Grenier in a surprise cameo in the highly anticipated sequel. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Frankel mentioned that he had the idea of secretly including the character Nate in the film. Unfortunately, Grenier, who played Andy's boyfriend Nate in the original film, was unable to participate in this project due to scheduling conflicts.
Frankel explained that it was not possible to collaborate with Adrian Grenier due to the production schedule being quite tight. Even if the director wanted to add a cameo scene, he emphasized that it would be technically too late for such an addition since the film is in post-production. This decision has disappointed fans, indicating that the character will not be returning.
In the original 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada, Adrian Grenier played a significant role alongside stars like Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt. Although details about the sequel have not been fully disclosed, it is known that production began in 2024. This project, which will reunite under Frankel's direction, is expected to include a large portion of the original cast.
