Steve Buscemi has joined the cast of FX and Hulu's new series Far Cry. The Emmy-winning actor will star alongside Rob McElhenney, known for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Lizzy Caplan. Far Cry is presented as an adaptation of the long-running video game series. Following FX's acquisition of the series set to premiere in November 2025, details about Buscemi's role and the storyline have yet to be clarified.

Buscemi also had a significant role in the 1996 Coen brothers film Fargo. He will be working alongside Fargo's creator and executive producer Noah Hawley on Far Cry. FX's Fargo series was inspired by the film of the same name, and this collaboration offers an intriguing connection for viewers.

The Far Cry series is planned to be in an anthology format similar to the video game; each season will present a new story and cast. FX has yet to clarify whether Hawley and McElhenney will adapt a specific version of the game or use the universe as a starting point.

Steve Buscemi had a significant role as the headmaster of Nevermore Academy in the second season of Netflix's Wednesday. His recent television projects include guest roles in TBS's Miracle Workers and The Studio, as well as Elsbeth. He earned two Emmy nominations for his role as Nucky Thompson in HBO's Boardwalk Empire and won an Emmy in 2016 for the short-format program Park Bench With Steve Buscemi.
