Star Trek: The Original Series, which began its broadcast in 1966, is making an exciting return as it approaches its 60th anniversary. All three seasons and 79 episodes will be available in a special new Blu-ray box set, just in time for the show's 60th year. In addition to standard Blu-ray and DVD versions, Amazon's exclusive set will be packed with surprises and details for collectors.

This special set will not only feature a stylish collectible package but will also include a series of lobby cards showcasing unforgettable moments from the show, along with a mini Tiny Vinyl record containing various sound effects and the iconic theme music by Alexander Courage. The set will be released on September 8, the original air date of Star Trek on NBC. This date has been designated as "Star Trek Day" and is frequently used by Paramount to promote the franchise.

Created by Gene Roddenberry, Star Trek is set in a universe where humanity has united and is part of the peaceful United Federation of Planets in the 23rd century. The series follows the adventures of the USS Enterprise as it explores new worlds and civilizations. Under the command of Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner), the ship tackles intriguing science fiction concepts as well as the social issues of the time, alongside the logical half-Vulcan Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and the irritable chief medical officer Leonard "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley).

Star Trek fans are also eagerly awaiting the 4th season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. This series focuses on the adventures under the original commander of the Enterprise, Christopher Pike (Anson Mount). Pike's fate is well-known among Trek fans, and the series will address this as it approaches its final season. The series will premiere exclusively on the Paramount+ platform on July 23. The Star Trek: The Original Series 60th Anniversary Collection will be available for sale on September 8 and is currently open for pre-order. Stay tuned for updates!
