The Hollywood Reporter
FX's Alien: Earth series has started filming its second season in London, adding Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell, and Jerome Flynn to its cast. These new names will join returning actors such as Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Babou Ceesay, Samuel Blenkin, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Moe Bar-El, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver. Additionally, another new addition for the second season is Peter Dinklage.
Spruell previously worked with Alien: Earth's creator and showrunner Noah Hawley on the fifth season of Fargo. This collaboration drew attention with Spruell's character Ole Munch, a sin eater in the series. There isn't much information yet about the new season, but there is curiosity regarding the roles Ullman, Spruell, and Flynn will play.
The first season left viewers with a cliffhanger, and Hawley provided some hints for the second season in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "This chapter has closed, but the Yutani troops are coming in. The balance of power has shifted," he said, increasing viewers' anticipation. "There’s a situation where these kids don’t know what’s coming. The phrase 'Now we are in charge' is triumphant and hopeful. But what will happen 10 minutes later?" emphasizing the show's real-time urgency.
Ullman recently appeared as a guest star in CBS's Elsbeth and will soon be seen in the fourth season of Ted Lasso. Spruell just returned from HBO's A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms project and has also appeared in Paramount+'s The Gold series and BBC's Dear England mini-series. Flynn has notable projects including Game of Thrones, the prequel series 1923, and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
