JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort Unveils $25 Million Spa Renovation
The Hollywood Reporter
In Arizona, the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort announced a $25 million investment to completely renovate its celebrity-favorite spa area. This renovation coincides with the hotel's 90th anniversary and aims to provide guests with a more tranquil experience.
Camelback Inn is known as an important part of Scottsdale's history and stands out as one of the Southwest's first full-service spa resorts. Over the years, it has been a preferred destination for celebrities like Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Bette Davis, and John F. Kennedy, and is also known to be one of J. Willard Marriott Sr.'s favorite spots. This historical connection is still proudly shared by the hotel's staff.
The new spa design is inspired by the Sonoran Desert. The area is decorated with limestone walls in sandy beige tones and custom stone mosaics, featuring sculptural furniture that reflects the curves of the nearby Camelback Mountain. Guests can relax on deep loungers in a communal lounge called "The Sanctuary" or unwind with a cup of tea after their treatments.
The spa area offers a spacious atmosphere with views of the outdoor pool and a thatched roof, providing a different experience compared to the dark and enclosed spaces common in other spa centers. Additionally, various amenities such as ice showers, aromatherapy steam rooms, Himalayan salt saunas, and hot tubs are available, complemented by unique cactus sculptures that bring greenery indoors. These innovations offer guests both physical and mental relaxation.
