Dan Levy revealed that he had considered a continuation project for the successful CBC series Schitt's Creek in the past. However, following the death of the show's star Catherine O'Hara, Levy stated that he would not pursue such a project. Responding to CBS Sunday Morning host Anthony Mason with, "No, not right now," Levy conveyed the message, "You can't do it, and you shouldn't."

Levy's statement emerged during an interview as part of the promotion for the upcoming Netflix comedy show Big Mistakes. O'Hara left a lasting impression with her character Moira Rose in Schitt's Creek, winning numerous prestigious awards, including Emmys. The series concluded in 2020 after six seasons.

While Levy had previously contemplated the show's enduring legacy, O'Hara's passing in recent months seems to have fundamentally altered those plans. This has been an emotional time for the cast and crew of Schitt's Creek.

The showrunner-actor appears to have taken a cautious approach regarding preserving the legacy of the original series in terms of its success and quality. Levy's decision highlights the impact on creative projects following the loss of a significant pillar in the arts and acting community.
