Mystery begins when a renovation of ‘Goddess Ninth Temple’ takes place at a quiet town in Province Tin Pen. The completion date of renovation is close; hence, Governor LI YUEN is invited to be the honor of guest for the opening ceremony of the temple. Just when the ceremony starts, strange thing happens. An unexpected storm arrives suddenly; and the statue of ‘Goddess Ninth’ disappears mysteriously. The temple administrator SUEN KONG critics the faithfulness of the villagers and states that ‘Goddess Ninth’ abandons Tin Pen is owing to their mistrust. Meanwhile, the villagers scare to bear the consequence and put the blame on YUEN instead. YUEN is smart; and he soon discovers the truth behind screen. He fools KONG to confess the story and forces him to draw the picture of ‘Goddess Ninth’ and places it at the temple again.… ...
MO CHAN ZI plays black magic on the maid of WAN, FA KOO also and orders KOO to take WAN to the ‘Goddess Ninth Temple’. Then MO makes up a story to fool the villagers to obey him. He orders the villagers to build a gold statue for ‘Goddess Ninth’ and bury WAN with fire, so that her spirit can reunion with the statue again.
In order to remove the damage of mirror, KAM visits the lake and cleans up the stain on the mirror daily. One day, he meets the father of WAN, KAU SAM YUN, on his way. Due to some misunderstanding, KAM offends YUN by blocking his way.
The wealthy often uses money as the means to resolve problems. YUN believes that a handsome amount of money can compensate the damage to their neighbor kingdom; however, YUEN holds a different point of view. On the other hand, SHUI cannot take a break off in protecting his gold coins. He frightens that the gold will be stolen while he falls asleep. Yet, YUEN feels pity on his ignorance then.
After the stolen of abalone incident, LANG criticizes FA has eaten up all the mushrooms again. On contrary, FA accuses LANG has stolen the mushrooms instead. LANG is furious and shares her grieves with KAM. KAM does not want the reputation of his mother damages by FA and seeks for the help of YUEN.
TON feels guilty for the death of SUET. It is pity that he cannot share the long cherish dream with his beloved wife; but ends up in mourning indeed. Suddenly, Duke, YEUNG CHUNG shows up and takes TON away. Actually, TON is selected to be the fiance of Princess WING MING and has to return to the Imperial Place at once. This hardly seems the time to reject; however, WAN helps TON to voice out for mercy. She pleads CHUNG to delay the schedule until the body of SUET is buried. CHUNG is attracted by the beauty of WAN and yet, promises to grant TON mercy at last. Meanwhile, YUEN and WAN learn about the marriage arrangement between TON and Princess WING MING then.
With poet wrote by TON, YUEN realizes that TON tends to commit suicide. YUEN is upset and anxious. But when he reads the poet again, the words change to another meaning mysteriously. KAM believes that it is done by the spirit of SUET. Therefore, YUEN offers scarify at the tomb of SUET at night; however, he is frightened by the haunt of ghost and returns home quickly. That night, YUEN has a strange nightmare and gets the inspiration from SUET. However, TON does not believe his story.
WAN wakes up at last. Moreover, she admits that she assigns KAM to steal the ‘Pearl of Moon’. Though CHUNG feels hard to believe, he agrees to give up the investigation. Meanwhile, WAN is aware to the leniency that CHUNG provides her.
Only because of this event, The Empress realizes the meaning of love. She forgives TON and SUET and decides to call off the wedding engagement between TON and Princess MING. Therefore, TON realizes his dream at last and promises YUEN that he will be a good Governor. Meanwhile, CHUNG envies YUEN that he has the love of WAN and a loyal servant, KAM and blesses YUEN to cherish them.
It is hard to keep a secret from a close companion. YUEN returns home a scent of fragrance which alerts the suspicious of WAN immediately. Thus, YUEN makes up story about the things happened overnight; but dares to mention about SIN. However, WAN discovers lipstick on the handkerchief of YUEN when she dyes. YUEN makes another excuse by cheating that the dirt of lipstick is caught when he selects cosmetic for WAN.
The unusual affair with SIN disturbs YUEN a lot. He returns home with an absent mind. Though SIN believes that YUEN cannot escape the temptation of her beauty, she begins to feel inpatient. SIN breaks his promise and does not show up for a few days. Therefore, SIN puts the blame on the insect that MOON takes home which brings her bad luck. Hence, SIN kills the insect without any sympathy. On the other hand, YUEN feels stressful and guilty for betraying WAN. Therefore, he practices his writing skills overnight until his body is over exhausted and falls asleep at last. Besides, MOON cries mournfully for the death of insect and insists to bury it properly. Hence, FAN takes MOON out while SIN is drunk.
SIN uses black magic to fool YUEN for the running of time. Moreover, she also blinds the senses of YUEN; thus, he fails to recognize the calling of WAN and KAM. WAN is heartbroken and runs away. KAM is angry with YUEN for lacking response and throws his shoe against him. Ironically, the shoe breaks the magic of SIN accidentally; thus, YUEN realizes the nature of SIN at last.
MOON succeeds in releasing all of them from the basement. But they are stunned when they see SIN. The spell of SIN is lost due to the broken of tripod; yet, SIN returns to her old age again. SIN is regret for the things she did on MOON; which gives her a bad impression towards men. MOON is grown up with a childhood without love. She is aware to the men obsess by beauty of SIN only and never seen true love. Though MOON tends to marry a wine seller when she grew up, her fiance failed to resist the temptation of SIN’ beauty at last. MOON commits suicide with her broken heart. Luckily, she is rescued; but she becomes crazy afterwards. MOON forgives SIN at last and SIN pasts away peacefully.
YUN loses the hope of survival; he believes that he will die soon despite the doctor proves him healthy. YUN speaks out the mistakes he had made in the battle with Turks and the reason for his failure.
One day, YUN is attracted by the decoration of a rice shop; where it is preparing for a wedding ceremony. He envies the harmony and happiness that the rice owner enjoys with his sons and grand children. Hence, he tends to speed up the marriage between YUEN and WAN as soon as possible.
Expect the unexpected because something surprise KAM. The Buddha statue is broken by the storm and unexpectedly, KAM recovers the lost heart pin in it. WAN continues to plan for her wedding and tries the wedding gown. She particularly interests about the communication ways between couples and notices that all of them think the same way despite they have different characters.
The soul of YUEN dreads far away from home now. YUEN meets a blind lady YI LAN; who performs the Chinese guitar for earning her own living. AH YAT is a driver, who picks up LAN to work daily. One day, YAT realizes that Doctor WING is a well-known doctor in town and might cure the blindness of LAN. He then sells off his wooden cart and all his belongings to help LAN finding Doctor WING for medicine. Doctor WING falls in love with LAN in the first sight and agrees to cure her blindness without charge. The medicine to cure LAN is costly. Doctor WING also spends all his wealth for curing LAN. Three months later, LAN recovers. Doctor WING seizes the chance and proposes marrying LAN at once. The next day, LAN agrees to marry WING and boards on his marriage sedan chair. Meanwhile, YUEN plays his black magic and makes the flowers blossom along the road.… ...
YUEN dares to see WAN suffers; hence, he finds CHUNG to replace him. CHUNG is appointed as the Duke of Province Yin and tends to marry WAN as his wife. KAM hears the reputation of Doctor WING from LAN; hence, he sets off to find WING immediately. However, WING pretends dead and takes KAM to his tomb; where he builds in advance. KAM is poisoned by a snake when he worships WING at the tomb. Hence, WING tells him his identity and cures his wound at once.
KAM helps WAN to pack her luggage and shares the memories together. However, both of them are lack of the courage to propose their love at heart. Meanwhile, YUN receives an order from the imperial that he has to lead the troops to secure the safety of Province Ping Sai. Therefore, he decides to organize a competition and recruit talent to be the commander. CHUNG registers at once then.
