However, as they are scrounging up the money, Julie checks her balance in her checking account and quickly finds that somehow an additional $125 has been credited to her account. Stricken with guilt and Barbara's encouragement, Julie decides to take the money.

Barbara is an eyewitness to a vandalism at the school and soon finds herself between a rock and a hard place, over whether or not to do the honest thing and tell the truth and fink on a friend or not say anything. Ultimately, she tells the truth but then must face the results of her actions, possible alienation.

Julie plans to move out, but Ann doubts her daughter can make it financially. First of two parts.
