CHAN LI HANG inspects the construction site. He meets the site supervisor, CHOW KA TSUN. They join force to put off the fire at the site and leave a deep impression on each other. TSUN takes care of his daughter, WAI MAN and his son, WAI KIT by himself. TSUN is very bad-temper, thus, he always quarrel with MAN. MAN obtained a reward in a youth beauty contest. TSUN scolds her. MAN leaves home and stay at her aunt, CHOW KA PIK's, home.

HANG knocks a pedestrian down, the police charges him. He is in a very bad mood. With HO's instigation, HANG is dismissed.

HANG worries a lot of YEE who is sick. HANG is not used to the life at the prison. The prisoners humbug him. He requests to ring home but is not allowed. He is very depressed.

HANG intends to commit suicide. Fortunately, TSUN stops him in time. SHAN knows that HANG has longed for his wife`s call. SHAN rings YEE for HANG`s sake. However, CHING devises to spoil HANG and YEE`s reunion and stop SHAN to contact YEE directly. TSUN has offended SHUN. He is attacked. Fortunately, SHING and HANG save TSUN. MAN intends to investigate why her photo was used in a magazine cover without her consent. A lesbian convinces YAN to take some sexy photos instead.

TSUN is hurt by SONG for the sake of saving SHAN. SHAN feels very grateful for his rescue. Since then SHAN cares a lot for TSUN`s whole family. When SHAN knew that YAN likes MAN abnormally. SHAN and CONNIE then disclose that YAN is a lesbian. MAN feels grateful for SHAN`s help. Meanwhile, SHAN discovers that TSUN does not guide his children well. TSUN and HANG save SHING from the well. YEE tidies up HANG`s room as she knew that HANG will release very soon. Meanwhile, she is also busy for the renovation work of LIN`s luxurious apartment. The prisoners celebrate for HANG for his release. HANG is touched. HANG vexes for finding a job after release. HANG feels very upset as he does not see YEE after release.

TSUN and the others are brought to the police station. They blame on each other. SHAN does not sue TSUN. The relationship between TSUN and MAN deteriorate. KIT then lives in SUN's home temporarily. The supervisor, LI SZE, spreads the rumor against TSUN. It makes TSUN more difficult to get a job. TSUN is very depressed. KIT thinks that TSUN will never return home. He waits TSUN at the football playground. TSUN slaps KIT as he thought that KIT has played truant. Since then KIT is very scared of TSUN.

HANG thinks that LIN is interested in YEE. Thus, HANG sells his flat at a low price so that he could repay his debt to LIN. YEE tries to stop HANG but is in vain. HANG gives the cheque to LIN and asks him to keep away from YEE. SHAN witnesses the scene. She proposes HANG to stay in SUN's home for one night so as to calm himself down. SUN sets up a firm, the Reforming Association, to help the ex-prisoner. TSUN works at his firm as cleaner.

When WAI and CHING heard that YEE is going to divorce, CHING supports while WAI persuades YEE to think carefully. TSUN is very annoyed when he is having the psychological treatment. SHAN comforts him. She even arranges KIT to go out with him. KIT is proud of his daddy who got full score in playing bowling. SHAN even proposes them to play go-cart cars together so as to narrow their gap. TSUN finds SHAN very gentle and kind. He got a special feeling on her.

HANG moves into SUN's home. SHAN is sad to see HANG who is so depressed. JAN proposes YEE to travel to Tintsien. YEE meets LIN on the plane. She knows that it must be CHING's plot. TSUN waits for KIT at the Happy World. SHAN tells TSUN that KIT is reluctant to come. TSUN and SHAN participate in the games in the hope that they could win a remote control racing car for KIT.

After the pub incident, CONNIE tries her best to approach TSUN. HANG is very depressed since the divorce. SHAN comforts him. TSUN promises that he will work together with HANG in Hap Kwan Company.

TSUN begs the Reforming Association not to charge SHING. SHAN contacts the victims to arrange compensation and to apologize. Nevertheless, they still lose their only customer. With SHAN`s encouragement, TSUN and HANG try their best to find new customer.

With SHUN`s encouragement, HANG could eventually face YEE. TSUN is sad to see HANG and SHAN getting along well. However, he keeps tolerate. YEE cannot concentrate at work as HANG is cleaning at her office. HO asks SHAN to stop HANG working at his company. SHAN refuses.

HO thinks that he could stop HANG to go to his office. However, both LIN and YEE do not blame HANG. HO is very upset. TSUN cares a lot for MAN and KIT. The relationship among the three is getting better. HANG feels ashamed of himself as he sees that YEE is now a lot better than him.

TSUN strongly opposes MAN to go out with MING. Both MAN and KIT are very dissatisfied with TSUN. TSUN follows MING to a transportation company. TSUN intends to warn MING. TSUN witnesses TAI SONG, who is quarreling with MING`s senior, LUNG. TSUN rescues SONG. HANG and TSUN know that SONG had experience in operating newspaper stall. They believe that Hap Kwan could try to run an newspaper stall. SONG is responsible to contact the newspaper distributor, TIN. TIN promises to allow them to handle the newspaper business in the new town, Tung Chung district, however, they need to pay hundred thousand deposit. They go everywhere to procure enough money. HANG`s father-in-law lends HANG a hand in this matter. YEE and LIN get along well with each other. TSUN tries hard to stop MING and MAN see each other. TSUN fights against MING in the Peak. TSUN and SHAN fall down from the slope carelessly.

TSUN and MAN are brought to the delinquent centre because of MING`s case. The relationship between TSUN and MAN deteriorates. The newspaper stall business is not good. HANG proposes the free-delivery service. The business grows.

YEE is injured for the sake of saving HANG. They show their real concern during difficulties. SHAN is very upset. SONG knows that it was LUNG`s deed. SONG prepares to take revenge. SHAN and TSUN try to stop them. They ignore the roadblock so as to divert the police attention. SONG could then flee away successfully.

SHAN fears that HANG and YEE will reunite, thus, she opposes HANG to work at Yik Fai Company. However, TSUN supports HANG and encourages HANG. KEE brings MAN and KIT to the hotel. They get along well with KEE`s husband who is a foreigner. TSUN is very upset.

TSUN and KEE fight for the right of fostering their son and daughter. MAN is very angry when she heard about the case. She vents her anger in the Karaoke. She offends the people in the Karaoke. Fortunately, MING saves MAN in time. They flee away to the park and ask SHAN to help. SHAN devises to make MAN and TSUN talk with each other. TSUN is hurt for the sake of saving MAN.

TSUN understands that he is not a good father. He nearly makes KIT die. He decides to give up the right of fostering KIT and MAN. He promises to pass the right to KEE. HANG confirms that someone is using inferior materials in construction. However, he has no evidence. HO and HONG know that HANG could not testify against them and the deadline is due. They know that TSUN is helping HANG. They then set SHING up and make him being arrested so as to obstruct their investigation.
