Young parents Dave and Rebecca end up having to take care of Dave's parents, who have mishandled their finances and need help to pay down a sizable debt.

Without involving Rebecca, Dave makes questionable choices when trying to get Asher into a gifted program. Stew starts driving for a ride-share to make some extra cash. After picking up Joanna, he helps her deal with her complicated love life.

At the shiva, Joanna is worried she too will die alone, which forces her to look for love in unlikely places and people.
