Wayans Brothers Reveal Condition for White Chicks 2
The Hollywood Reporter
Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans have left the door open for a sequel to White Chicks, but there’s a condition to make it happen. The brothers, who also star in the new Scary Movie film, discussed the potential sequel to the cult classic in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Marlon said, "Let’s put it this way: we’re ready. We want to know if people want to come and laugh," implying that if Scary Movie performs well, White Chicks 2 could be made.
The 2004 comedy film told the story of two unsuccessful FBI agents who transformed themselves from black men into blonde, white women to protect two socialites from a kidnapping attempt. Marlon and Shawn not only starred in the film but also worked alongside their brother Keenen Ivory Wayans, who directed it.
While Marlon is open to a sequel to White Chicks more than two decades later, he has previously detailed the challenges he faced during the original film's production. Last year, during Kai Cenat's Mafiathon 3 livestream, Marlon mentioned that they spent seven hours a day in the makeup chair and then worked another 14 hours afterward due to their roles as producers. They had to start their work hours earlier because of this.
According to Marlon, during this exhausting process, they could only manage to get three hours of sleep at night. Even after finishing work, they would stay on set and spend about an hour removing their makeup. This physical and mental effort made the production of the original film quite a challenging experience.
While it remains to be seen whether the Wayans brothers will agree to a sequel to White Chicks, for now, Marlon and Shawn will be seen together in the previously missed Scary Movie 6. The new film is set to be released on June 5, having been delayed from its original schedule.
