The return of Cal's old SEAL friend Garrett (Riley Green) — ironically not the Navy SEAL character we hoped this spin-off would visit — along with Belle's (Arielle Kebbel) romantic rejection from last week, brings Cal’s life to the brink of collapse. When Cruz's (Ash Santos) abduction by Randall Clegg (Michael Cudlitz) and his secret medical diagnosis are added to the mix, the situation invites disaster.

While the potential to change Cal's life offers an interesting narrative, the news of Miles and Madison getting together comes too soon, failing to make a significant impact in this chaotic environment. The series has previously presented tests for various characters and placed viewers in the most suitable positions within the Yellowstone universe. However, unlike Taylor Sheridan's other successes, Marshals needs to take its time to advance its story more organically and measuredly.

Although tensions and connections between characters are established quickly, viewers need more time to truly invest in these relationships. The success of Marshals depends not only on how many events it can cram in but also on how effectively those events are presented. Current indicators suggest that the producers should consider slowing the pace and distributing dramatic elements more thoughtfully.
