Taylor Sheridan's film career began about 10 years ago when he wrote the screenplay for the legendary neo-Western thriller film Sicario, starring Josh Brolin and Emily Blunt. Following Sicario, Sheridan wrote and directed more neo-Western films such as Hell or High Water, Wind River, and Without Remorse. However, with the launch of Yellowstone in 2018, he started building his television empire, and today he continues this success with new projects like The Madison, starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer, and Marshals, featuring Luke Grimes in the lead role.
While Sheridan is known for his neo-Western thrillers, he has also successfully ventured into the crime saga genre. One of his biggest hit series is Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone. In 2021, four years after the release of Wind River, Sheridan teamed up with Jeremy Renner for a new TV series called Mayor of Kingstown. The series has aired four successful seasons on Paramount+, and production for its fifth season is currently underway. It has been confirmed that the last season is the final season.
After adding Nestor Carbonell to the cast for the fifth season, Mayor of Kingstown has returned to the Paramount+ global top 10 list, and fans around the world are eagerly awaiting what will happen in the final season. The official synopsis of the series is: "The McClusky family are power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the only thriving industry is the prison business, grappling with themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality."
Mayor of Kingstown is written by Hugh Dillon, who also plays a key character named Ian Ferguson in the series. Other cast members include Tobi Majtefa, Taylor Handley, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Necar Zadegan. The series continues to showcase Sheridan's skills in handling complex characters and social issues, and the approach of the final season is creating anticipation among fans.
