The Hollywood Reporter
Seth Rogen paid tribute to his late co-star Catherine O'Hara while accepting the Best International Series award for The Studio at the BAFTA TV Awards held on Sunday. In his speech at the London venue, Rogen emphasized that O'Hara was one of the key elements that shaped the show, stating, "Catherine was very important to all of us." He concluded his remarks by raising the award and saying, "I think her work has been as important for you here as it has been for us. So this award is for Catherine."
At the beginning of his speech, Rogen expressed his surprise at his success. "I really didn't expect this to happen. Winning when you're doing comedy, especially when competing against dramas, feels really good. Obviously, this doesn't happen very often. It's a rare and elite thing," he said. He noted that he was proud of overcoming the challenges posed by dramatic productions with his success in the comedy genre.
Rogen also made sure to include some jokes in his conversation. Praising Britain's prestigious TV awards ceremony and its audience, he said, "This award stage is fantastic. Thank you for inviting us here." He then pointed to Taskmaster host Greg Davies sitting at the edge of the stage, commenting, "This guy is sitting on a tiny chair. I've never seen that before. I find that amazing."
Rogen also mentioned Celia Imrie's performance that took place earlier in the awards ceremony. Referencing Imrie's famous appearance on The Celebrity Traitors, Rogen expressed that he found the situation to be beyond imagination in terms of humor. Reminding show host Claudia Winkleman of the moment when Imrie said, "Claudia, I just farted. Out of nerves, but I always own it," Rogen noted that he learned Imrie was "a very talented and skilled woman" on the BAFTA stage, but what he really remembered was that "this happened in reality TV."
