The Citadel project, which Prime Video launched eight years ago in collaboration with the Russo Brothers, has become a favorite among viewers with its second season, despite not meeting expectations initially. The series currently ranks second globally on Prime Video and is threatening the throne of The Boys. Despite receiving negative reviews for its first season, the producers did not abandon the project, although the planned spin-off series were canceled or put on hold.
Citadel is a spy thriller series about members of an international intelligence organization, starring Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, and Stanley Tucci. After the organization is destroyed, former agents come together to form a new team to combat a new threat that could determine the fate of humanity. The series includes all the classic elements of the genre; global missions, action scenes, and surprising developments are the core components of this production.
Looking at the ratings from viewers, Season 2 has been received better than Season 1. Although the series has not yet received enough critic scores on Rotten Tomatoes, the interest shown by the audience proves the success of the production. Despite an eight-year development process and initial setbacks, Citadel has finally managed to create the desired impact on viewers.
