The Hollywood Reporter
Naomie Harris and Christina Hendricks have begun filming for 'Reputation', a new legal drama for the BBC. Written by Anya Reiss and produced by Banijay U.K.'s The Forge, the six-episode series follows powerful lawyer Lena, played by Skyfall star Harris, as she becomes embroiled in the biggest celebrity case of the decade representing famous pop star Davina Knight (Hendricks from Mad Men).
The cast also includes Alex Jennings (The Crown), David Gyasi (The Diplomat), Emily Atack (Rivals), Kyle Soller (Andor), Marli Siu (Twenty Twenty Six), Alex Heath (Serpent Queen), Tilly Keeper (You), Corey Johnson (The Day of the Jackal), Aidan McArdle (Sherlock & Daughter), and Ernest Kingsley Jnr (Washington Black). This diverse ensemble will enhance the dynamic nature and rich character variety of the series.
'Reputation' is described as a bold and dazzling drama that showcases the consequences of a high-profile legal battle spiraling out of control. After Davina releases a bold song accusing her ex-husband Billy (Soller) of misconduct, their private issues become public, escalating into a major defamation lawsuit. The case becomes even more complicated as it transcends courtroom boundaries, involving PR strategies, legal loopholes, and social media platforms turning into judge, jury, and battleground.
Naomie Harris was immediately captivated when she first read the 'Reputation' script. "The intelligence and nuance in Anya's writing are incredibly rare. I knew right away that I wanted to play Lena," says Harris. This series promises to deliver an engaging experience for viewers by exploring the complex dynamics of both the legal world and the lives of celebrities.
