From has succeeded in drawing millions of viewers to their screens as one of MGM's most popular sci-fi horror series. Starring Harold Perrineau as Sheriff Boyd Stevens, the show returned for its fourth season on April 19 with the episode "Arrival." This episode received an impressive 8.4/10 rating on IMDb, marking the highest rating in the series' history, and was well-received by both critics and audiences.

Before the start of the fourth season, it was announced that From had been renewed for a fifth season, but there was bittersweet news: the fifth season would be the show's final season. In a joint statement from showrunner John Pinkner, creator John Griffin, and director Jack Bender, they mentioned that the fifth season would give viewers the "chance to follow our story to the end" and that "questions will be answered, answers will be questioned, and countless tears and horrors will flow." Griffin noted in a separate interview that this decision was not a surprise, stating, "Honestly, five seasons was always our goal, but we wanted the story to tell us when it should end."

Following this announcement, fans around the world have been sending messages of disappointment and gratitude. Most fans are preparing to enjoy the fourth season knowing the end of their beloved horror series is approaching. But what about the show's star Harold Perrineau? Responding to someone questioning MGM's decision to cancel the most-watched program on social media, Perrineau said, "We want to bring the best version to the screen. Five seasons allows us to achieve that goal."

From's return continues to show great success on American streaming platforms as well. As of the date of writing, the series is the most-watched title on MGM's Amazon channels. This is made all the more impressive when considering the show's tough competition, which includes the thriller series The Institute, the Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson-led Mercy, and the 2025 blockbuster Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning.
