Elsa Pataky stars as the lead and serves as an executive producer in SkyShowtime's new Spanish original series The Tribute. The series, which premiered today, is a family thriller that delves into the secrets, betrayals, and desires for revenge behind the 80th birthday celebration of the powerful Novak family. Developed by the creative team behind the successful series Matices, The Tribute releases its first four episodes today, with the remaining four episodes set to air a week later on April 30.

The Tribute brings together names like Eusebio Poncela in his final acting role, Miriam Giovanelli, Juana Acosta, Enrique Arce, Raúl Prieto, Luis Tosar, Luisa Mayol, and Elsa Pataky. The cast is expanded with other talents such as Manu Ríos, Álvaro Rico, Ángela Molina, Georgina Amorós, and Óscar de la Fuente. Directed by Sergio Cánovas and written by Javier Naya and Martín Suárez, the series is produced by Secuoya Studios and Stellarmedia in collaboration with SkyShowtime and Prime Video.

Pataky has commented on her character Stella Novak, noting that what drew her to the series was the psychology of each character. "Essentially, we are victims of the circumstances we live in, especially the experiences we had during childhood, and the moments spent with our parents and siblings," she stated. Pataky emphasized that it is interesting to show how the family members compete for love they never truly had and how this affects their mental health and relationships.

Known for her role as Elena Neves in the Fast & Furious series, Pataky expressed that it is wonderful to work again with the same creative team after the Shades series. Director Cánovas has introduced a new series concept that features the same cast but tells a different story, developing a script that ensures each actor is satisfied with their character. The complex nature of Stella's character reflects the journey of a woman who initially seeks to reconcile with her family and find peace, but ultimately feels the obligation to protect her family.

Kai Finke, the content head of SkyShowtime, praised The Tribute for its "magnificent cast and captivating storyline." The series will be available in over 20 markets on SkyShowtime, a joint venture of Paramount and Comcast, which holds the second window rights for Prime Video.
