This week, under CEO Mark Zuckerberg's leadership, Meta introduced Muse Photo and Muse Video, the first photo and video tools emerging from Superintelligence Labs. These new tools align Meta with the latest technologies in AI media creation. However, the automatic opt-out option for all public Instagram profiles that comes with these tools has raised concerns among users. Other users will be able to create new content using accounts that do not opt-out.

This situation could pose a significant issue for celebrities and high-profile figures. While most users may prefer the opt-out option, the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) criticized this situation and called on Meta to switch to an opt-in system. CAA stated, "No person's name, image, voice, or creative work should be used by third parties, including AI models, without explicit and documented consent."

CAA's statement emphasized the need to protect creators' rights and ensure their living standards. It stated, "Artists should have the right to decide how their images and works are used." Additionally, it was noted that responsible AI practices require the swift removal of unauthorized content and allow users to set their own terms.

Although Meta's new tools aim to simplify the content creation process for users, discussions about the ethical and legal dimensions of such applications are expected to continue. CAA's call draws attention as part of efforts to protect artists' rights, and this situation may lead social media platforms to reassess their content management policies.
