Comedy series are among the best shows for relaxation due to their familiar characters, frequent jokes, and laid-back atmosphere. These productions can continue for many seasons, allowing viewers to follow the dynamics of the characters over the years. This can be a true gift for comedy series fans, but some shows may lose their momentum in later seasons. Even the best comedy series like New Girl, The Office, and Friends have at least one season that is generally considered weaker than the others.

However, there are also comedy series that do not have a single bad season. Some are short-lived series that never quite capture their success, while others manage to maintain their quality despite having a full broadcast season. These shows are fantastic both on first watch and upon rewatch because there is no drop in quality throughout the entire season.

One Day at a Time follows the Alvarez family, based on the 1975 comedy series of the same name: Penelope (Justina Machado), her children Elena (Isabella Gomez) and Alex (Marcel Ruiz), and her mother Lydia (Rita Moreno). The four live together and often comically clash due to their close quarters. They are also quite close with their landlord Schneider (Todd Grinnell), who frequently comes and goes from their apartment. Although the show had an unusual broadcast period, being canceled by Netflix after three seasons and later airing an incomplete fourth season on Pop TV, every season of One Day at a Time is quite strong. The series combines ongoing jokes, like Lydia dramatically opening her bedroom curtain, with heartfelt scenes of the family supporting each other.

What We Do in the Shadows is a mockumentary-style comedy series based on the 2014 film of the same name, focusing on the lives and afterlives of four vampires and their human familiar. They live together in a mansion on Staten Island, and the show follows their activities both as roommates and as vampires. The vampires, sent to New York City to conquer the tri-state area, often get caught up in more mundane daily activities. What We Do in the Shadows is wildly funny across its six seasons, featuring new characters, shocking plot twists, and well-written pieces of mythology. The vampires' afterlives change throughout the series; they try new jobs and hobbies and take on new roles in both their community and neighborhood.

Schitt's Creek follows the wealthy and famous Rose family, consisting of long-married couple Johnny (Eugene Levy) and Moira (Catherine O'Hara) and their adult children David (Dan Levy) and Alexis (Annie Murphy). When the Rose family's entire fortune is stolen, they are forced to move to Schitt's Creek, a small town Johnny once bought as a joke. During their time in Schitt's Creek, the Roses grow closer and reassess their priorities. Although Schitt's Creek really picks up speed after about halfway through, each of its seasons is absolutely wonderful. The Roses are such well-written and unique characters that even the most mundane tasks and scenarios become funny with them.

Santa Clarita Diet follows Sheila (Drew Barrymore) and Joel Hammond (Timothy Olyphant), a happy married couple who also work together as real estate agents. They live a quiet and comfortable life in the suburbs of Santa Clarita until Sheila suddenly starts exhibiting strange behaviors. Along with their daughter Abby (Liv Hewson) and their neighbor Eric (Skyler Gisondo), Sheila and Joel must navigate Sheila's new reality.
