Writer and director Anu Valia has signed with CAA for representation. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Valia gained attention with her short film "Lucia, Before and After," which won the U.S. Fiction Award at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

In television directing, she has worked on numerous projects, including Steve Carell's HBO series "Rooster," Apple TV+'s hit show "Shrinking," and Disney+ and Marvel's "She-Hulk." She has also contributed to significant productions such as HBO Max's "Sex and the City" sequel series "And Just Like That…" and Netflix's "A Man on the Inside" starring Ted Danson. Valia served as an executive producer and pilot director for Apple TV+'s two-season series "Big Door Prize."

On the big screen, her debut feature film "We Strangers," which premiered at SXSW in 2024, has won awards at various film festivals. "We Strangers" follows Rayelle Martin, a cleaner living in Gary, Indiana, as she begins cleaning the homes of a wealthy suburban family, leading to a series of events. Rayelle faces challenges when a small lie she tells during work spirals out of control.

Valia was the first recipient of the Blackwell Film Producing Award, given in collaboration with the University of West Georgia. She is part of the 2025-2026 Reframe Rise cohort and was named Gotham's Creator to Watch in 2025. She continues to be represented by Mosaic and Gang Tyre Ramer Brown & Passman.
