Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins has announced that he will release his first classical album next month, taking a new step in his music career. The 88-year-old renowned artist shared his first single titled “Bracken Road” with listeners last Friday. Hopkins will release this classical music compilation, which he has been working on for over sixty years, in collaboration with Decca Classics. The album is titled "Life Is a Dream" and will be released on August 21. The songs will be performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel.

The first single from the album was inspired by Hopkins’ childhood memories. Memories from Margam in South Wales, as well as the streets, meadows, farmland, and mountains surrounding his family home in the 1940s, served as the inspiration for this piece. Additionally, the track titled “My Fatherland” was created based on traditional Welsh melodies. Hopkins describes music as his greatest desire in life, stating, “I have been busy composing music throughout my life. Some of these works have lived with me for years, and I continue to return to them.”

Hopkins mentions that he has been playing the piano since he was four years old and began playing works by Beethoven and Chopin a few years later. Having composed music for local theater plays in his youth, Hopkins had already found a place for himself in the music world. In 2012, he won a Classic Brit Award with his own album titled "And the Waltz Goes On." This new album seems poised to be a significant milestone in his music career.
