Alice Halsey is drawing attention by portraying the iconic character Laura Ingalls in Netflix's new adaptation of 'Little House on the Prairie.' Premiering on July 9, the series features 11-year-old Halsey on massive billboards across Hollywood. "I’ve never been on a billboard before, it’s really crazy," Halsey said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. This experience is seen as a significant step at the beginning of the young actress's career.

Despite having 'Little House' books at home during her childhood, Halsey had not read them until the audition process for the role of Laura. "It’s really beautiful," she says. "Laura has the power to draw people in with her details and descriptions. She definitely makes a big impact with her words." These remarks reflect Halsey’s commitment to her character and the seriousness of her preparation for the role.

Halsey mentions that she frequently read the script, listened to related podcasts, and read books from the late 19th century to prepare for the character. "I wanted to understand who the character is," she says. Despite her young age, Halsey’s determination and focus are impressive.

Being on set and in costume has allowed Halsey to immerse herself better in her character's world. "I enjoyed the whole day with the happiness of being Laura," she says. During the filming, she shares memories of the shoot, saying, "The meadow can really be wild." "When the wind blows and everything moves, it feels like everything is alive. It’s truly magical but also unpredictable." This unpredictability was also evident in the opening scene of the series; Halsey appears in the scene where her character is first introduced, holding a slingshot.
