SPOILER ALERT: This story contains significant plot details, including the ending of the "Elle" series available on Amazon Prime Video.

The show's producers, Laura Kittrell and Caroline Dries, made a significant effort to avoid spoilers while communicating with the press before filming the second season following the first season of "Elle." Amazon renewed this series, which tells the story before "Legally Blonde," in January, focusing on Elle Woods' high school years. The show humorously addresses the period before Elle applies to Harvard Law School and her process of solving her first cases. Within its first week of release, "Elle" became the most-watched series on Prime Video.

As one of the creators of the series, Kittrell shared her excitement about the show with Dries over Zoom, stating, "It was really a very intense period." The cast members expressing difficulty remembering the content of the first season and wanting to rewatch it reflects the show's complex structure. The first season begins by taking us back to 1995 when Elle's family moves from Bel-Air to Seattle. During this transition, Elle tries to fit in with her new friends who are familiar with the grunge culture.

The first season of the series consists of eight episodes named after quotes from Reese Witherspoon's 2001 film. In these episodes, Elle pursues a conspiracy related to the misappropriation of school funds while forming new friendships and romances. Additionally, the late TV star known for "Dawson's Creek" plays the character Dean Wilson, the school principal and mayoral candidate. Elle's mother, Eva, finds a purpose by helping Wilson's campaign amid the chaos of the move, only to eventually learn that Wilson is the mastermind behind the entire plan.
