Between 1980 and 1988, she made four feature films, which were shown at festivals around the world, as well as an episodic film and, in the 1990s, a dozen television documentaries. She also made a music video for the successful Neue Deutsche Welle band Extrabreit. In 1982, she founded her own production company, Rocco-Film. She also taught story development and dramaturgy at film schools in Berlin and Munich, among others, and was a scholarship holder at Villa Aurora in Los Angeles.
