Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) life hasn't exactly been the easiest to live ever since he first bumped into Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) a decade ago — and it's fair to say it got increasingly complicated since the entire world has forgotten who he was. Now, in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, we see a Spider-Man who is alone, anonymous, and trying to rebuild his life while the universe changes around him and hurtles towards, well, Doom. But speaking of Doom... where exactly does this next adventure sit in the grand timeline at Marvel Studios? Speaking with Collider’s Steve Weintraub alongside producer Amy Pascal, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set before Avengers: Doomsday. While Feige remained tight-lipped about how long before Doomsday the film is set, Pascal clarified how long it's been for Peter Parker since the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. When asked when the movie occurs in relation to Doomsday, Feige replied, “It takes place before." Pressed on whether it happens immediately beforehand, Feige clarified, “No, it’s before.” Pascal then offered the more precise timeline detail: “Four years after No Way Home.” Based on your answers, the Marvel hero who matches your spirit, values, and instincts has been revealed. You carry the weight of the world on shoulders that are younger than they should have to be — funny, loyal, and endlessly self-sacrificing. You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free. The four-year jump means audiences will return to Peter after he has already spent a significant amount of time living with the consequences of Doctor Strange’s spell, his loved ones no longer remember him, Aunt May is dead, and he's back to basics, using a homemade suit and having forsaken the tech gifted to him by his beloved Mister Stark at the very start. All of this gives Peter a lot more room to be that street-level version of Spidey that we've been hankering for, rather than just picking up a matter of days after the previous movie. He's been working alone for years now, building his new identity and adjusting to the life he never wanted.
