Elina Shammi is a versatile Bangladeshi film and television actress, scriptwriter, and presenter. Known for her powerful screen presence and ability to transform into diverse characters, she has established herself as one of the most reliable and nuanced performers in contemporary Bangladeshi media. Before transitioning full-time into the entertainment industry, Shammi worked as an English teacher, earning recognition as an outstanding educator. She made her entry into media as a television presenter, gaining wide recognition hosting popular live shows such as Doorpath on Desh TV, as well as working as a news presenter across major national broadcast networks. Behind the scenes, she also developed a strong portfolio as a screenwriter, authoring over 40 original television dramas and series. Shammi made her feature film debut in the 2014 liberation war drama 71 Er Maa Jononi. Her major breakthrough came with her standout performance in Raihan Rafi’s critically acclaimed web film Janowar (2021). She further expanded her international recognition portraying former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in Shyam Benegal’s biographical epic Mujib: The Making of a Nation (2023), and appearing in the blockbuster hit Priyotoma (2023) alongside Shakib Khan. Throughout her career, Shammi has prioritized complex, performance-driven roles over conventional archetypes, seamlessly moving between mainstream cinema, web thrillers, and independent films.
