Chady and David work on cargo ships on Lake Geneva. Both are foreigners in Switzerland. On the undulating waters of the lake, the young men, haunted by memories of their home countries, share secrets, reminiscences, and the shared feeling of being uprooted. A strange intimacy develops between the two men.
