Zoobilee Zoo is an Emmy Award-winning children's television series featuring performers in costumes as animal characters. It originally aired from 1986 to 1987, then continued in syndication until 2001 on various television channels, including commercial networks, public television stations, The Learning Channel, and the Hallmark Channel. Only 65 episodes of the original version were produced. Although it was in syndication for 15 years, it stopped airing on television as of July 2011. The original 65 episodes are currently owned by Hallmark Properties and were produced by WQED Pittsburgh. Typically, each episode's plot involves the main characters, known as Zoobles, facing challenges common to young children and learning a moral lesson about how to handle such issues, like being nervous about visiting a doctor or learning to appreciate others. Each character has a unique quirk in their behavior or interests that provides them with a distinct perspective on the problems they encounter. Mayor Ben, who usually appears at the start and end of each episode, refers to the show's fans and viewers as Zoobaroos.
