After working for the London Police Force for 10 years, Tom Mathias transfers to Aberystwyth in Wales, where he aims to build a new life for himself while continuing his detective work. In the mountainous terrain, isolated farms, and closely-knit small villages of Aberystwyth, our character is appointed to lead a small team of four, including himself, and faces a murder case on his very first day. Thus, Detective Tom Mathias begins investigating the murder of 64-year-old Helen Jenkins, found in a pool of blood, alongside his new team, and the events unfold.
