Luz Noceda is an ordinary girl. Because she misbehaves too much at school, her mother sends her to a mind camp. Her mother tells her to stop reading fantasy books. To trick her mother, she throws the book in the trash. However, just as she is about to retrieve the book, a small owl steals it. While chasing that owl, she unknowingly enters a cabin and steps into a fantastical world called the Boiling Isles, where she meets a witch named Edalyn Clawthorne, known as the Owl Lady.
