The land of Emmaly is known for its abundance from both land and sea. Emmaly is ruled by a monarchy and is divided into five regions, each with its own leader. According to royal laws, each region must send an heir to compete for the throne. The winning heir's father becomes the new king of Emmaly. This story follows Khanin, the crown prince and heir of the Atsawathewathin royal family, and his family, as well as Charan Phithakdheva, the royal guard who has served Atsawathewathin for decades. Khanin lives far from Emmaly and has no interest in seizing the throne. Charan is tasked with bringing Khanin back to the country as the royal guard.
