Eliseo, who appears to be a friendly and soft-spoken doorman in a luxury apartment building, sees himself as the all-powerful ruler of society, meddling in the affairs of the residents and manipulating events to his liking. Eliseo's sole aim is to protect his job, which is threatened by a proposed pool project.
