Survivor Philippines is the Philippine version of the television series Survivor, originally based on the show Expedition Robinson created in 1997 by Charlie Parsons. The series premiered on September 15, 2008, on GMA Network. The show is currently hosted by Richard Gutierrez, while the first two seasons were hosted by Paolo Bediones. Like many of its counterparts, the show features a set number of contestants stranded in an isolated location for a predetermined number of days until only one remains, earning the title Pinoy Sole Survivor. In addition to the title, the winner also receives P3,000,000, the largest cash prize in the history of Philippine reality game shows. The show's tagline is "Pautakan, Pagalingan, Patatagan", the Filipino translation of the US version's "Outwit, Outplay, Outlast". The show generally refers to its fans as "Katribo", which means "tribemate" in English.
