The battle begins during the Spanish era when Apo Abukay (Gardo Versoza) seeks power with plans to dominate the world. However, his ambitions are thwarted when Conde Vergonze kills him. After his death, his cursed soul lingers. Many years later, in the 1980s, Karag-ayan Amelia (Lorna Tolentino) and Binhi-lan Rodolfo (Jestoni Alarcon) fall in love. Amelia gives birth to twin boys who are raised separately, unaware of each other's existence. Miguel (the son of light) is kind-hearted and lives a modest life, while Amante (the seed of darkness) is raised with hate and rage, but surrounded by wealth and power.
