Class 9 "A" was exemplary, with their teacher Nosov Anatoly Germanovich - a strong and experienced educator, recognized in 2009 as Teacher of the Year. After his sudden illness, Class 9 "A" is left without a strong leader. The myth of the exemplary class is crumbling, and discipline is falling apart. Nosov's granddaughter, Anya Nosova, is perhaps the most challenging teenager in the school. A new student, Ilya Epifanov, provokes situations that reveal unexpected sides of the students, turning the usual perceptions of them as classmates and teachers upside down. None of the teachers want to take on a class that has become the most difficult of the model ones.
