Sancar, the son of a poor horse trainer, falls in love with Nare, the daughter of an ambassador who comes to Bodrum for a vacation when they are just children. These two opposite kids love each other deeply and fight for their love for years. Eventually, the girl runs away with the boy, but on the very night they reunite, Nare suddenly disappears. No one sees her again. Some say she fell into the sea and drowned, others say the ambassador's daughter fled to Europe. A lover sings a folk song about them, saying the ambassador's daughter became a bird and flew away. Thus, the unhappy story of Nare and Sancar turns into a legend.
