Hino attends a school that specializes in music, offering two streams: the regular stream and the music stream, where music students are considered the elite. One day, she was running late for class when she spotted a tiny fairy, who seemed thrilled that Hino could see her. The next day, the school announces the entrants for the music competition. Hino's name is on the list – except she doesn't play an instrument. The fairy gifts her a magical violin that anyone can play. Reluctantly, she enters the competition and must confront the biases of her peers.
