300 years ago, Captain LaPoutine and his crew—Armando, Burt, Booli, and Spewey—attempted to steal a princess's tiara, but accidentally ended up stealing Poseidon's underwear instead. This infuriated Poseidon, who shrank the pirates and imprisoned them in a bottle. In the present day, the pirates are accidentally released by Poseidon's younger son, Newt. Newt then decides to take charge of the pirates and embark on adventures with them.
