Inspector Gadget is a cartoon that narrates the adventures of a clumsy, absent-minded inspector who is oblivious to his surroundings. Although Gadget is a human, various useful devices that emerge from different parts of his body make it easier for him to catch criminals. He always reads the paper he receives from Chief Quimby during missions and throws it to Chief Quimby, causing the paper to self-destruct. The crime is always committed by Dr. Claw, who has a cat. Dr. Claw's face has never been seen. Claw has agents named Mad, and whenever they attempt to attack Inspector Gadget, his niece Penny comes to the rescue. At the end of the cartoon, Gadget shares topics related to example rules that will raise awareness among children.
