The story follows the life of Diana, a pre-teen living in a neighborhood called Buenaventura. Diana quickly becomes best friends with Christian, who has just moved to Mexico due to his parents' divorce, despite their families' hatred for one another. However, the residents of Buenaventura are at risk of losing their homes, their school, and much more, as the evil old Severiano plans to demolish the neighborhood and build a massive shopping mall in its place. To execute his plan, Severiano is willing to use any means necessary and will unleash a series of disasters to drive the inhabitants away.
